Is confinement nanny necessary?

#pleasehelp FTM here and my edd is late Jan 2022 which falls under the Chinese new year period. Have asked around and confinement service during this period are around 5k. I was wondering if it's really necessary to have a stay in confinement lady? I live with my husband only but my in law and parents stay nearby us (walking distance) and I'm sure my mil will be able to help out a little, maybe cooking and washing baby clothes? Have not announce the pregnancy to them yet hence can't discuss much. Anyone could share their experience and thoughts please?

It'll be nice to have one but definitely not necessary (IMO) you can have your husband helping you out and if really needed, your parents or in law. Meal wise, you can consider ordering confinement food.

Hi! I did not hire nanny or engage anyone’s help, just me n husband, we take turns to do chores, take care of baby etc. Super easy for us but it could differ for everyone else

i guess the difference is - if ur CN annoys u, u can tell her off. if ur in-law annoys u, u can't. hahaha

Just get yourself a confinement nanny instead of asking in law to help in order to save your sanity.
