Dry skin for new born

Hi parents, may i know when is the earliest time to put on lotion for new born. Hear say newborn's skin is still vy sensitive. Not advisable to put on lotion too early. Is it true? Coz my new born seems to have vy dry skin. And what brand would you recommend?

Moisturise from day 1. I used mustela bath oil and followed up with mustela lotion. These have fragrance but my newborn was ok with it. He had dry skin too so all the more important to moisturise.

I started on day 3 (when she first came home). Using Cetaphil baby for both bath and lotion.
