I would go with free range parenting where you adopt different styles depending on the situation

Depending on situation and severity...use my own discretion...authority, permissive...

there should be discipline but they should feel free to share things with us

Strict but also flexible enough for them to learn on their own

Friendly and loving but also with principles

Authoritative but yet willing to listen

mix of authoritative and free range
