Out of a sudden, my 6 year old has dandruff. She has been scratching for about 2 weeks now. Her usual shampoo doesn't help. Could I use normal shampoo like Head and Shoulders on her? Or any recommendation for dandruff in kids.

I experienced the same thing regarding the problem with your daughter. When i was little, my mom already took me to doctors but noone seems to help us cure it permanently. And now im a mom, i went to a dermatologist to have it checked. Doctor said it was some kind of a scalp problem. The skin or scalp was producing itself faster than normal. BUT that was just a speculation of a doctor for she did not do a test or whatever with me. So yes it could be a scalp problem or maybe because im just not rinsing my hair properly. WHATEVER is the real problem i really dnt mind anymore, because i found a way to help myself with this dilemma. I highly suggest that you use VCO for your daughter. Before when i was a kid i use babyoil.. But i discovered that VCO is much effective. Just massage the VCO to her scalp.. 30mins will do (but me i do it overnight to myself) then bathe her. VCO is also good for the hair so dnt worry. Maybe atleast 2 days you will see the result. Take note.. This is not a permanent solution for if its a scalp problem there is no cure for it(thats what my derma told me). But definitely it will remove her dandruff. Just do the same step if ever it cameback. AND also.. Stress triggers it. Hope this helps..

Im not sure if head and shoulders will be too strong. You can try something more gentle for children. dandruff could be a form of atopic dermatitis. Consider going to a dermatologist if the condition persists.
