New born clothes question

Hi mummies I'm a ftm kindly share your expertise with me! My EDD is in May. Expecting a bb boy. Should I buy 50cm or 60cm sized baby suits? Do you usually get suits with long sleeves + covered till toes? Or short sleeves (not covering toes)? #firstbaby #pleasehelp

always bought bigger 😅 at least they can wear longer n they grow super fast, good to have just a few(2-3) smaller ones in case everything else is just too darn big but personal preference i guess? i didn't mind it! i've only dressed my lo in short sleeved/sleeveless till she was older as we didn't have AC n she just sweats non stop, even had a bacterial infection on her neck from heat rash 🥴, sometimes i don't even put clothes on her, just swaddle up during naps

I would say - those you buy, get them in bigger sizes like 80. For newborn clothes, since they dont last long, try to get hand me downs. From the hand me downs, u can gauge what else u need to buy. get some sleeping bags for newborn as they need to be warm when sleeping.. and not all babies like to be swaddled with arms down. up to 3 months usually with covered hands and feet.

Frankly i start to buy more probably few wks before 37.. so that can better estimate.. my ger is 5 mths old tml and still wearing 60 😂😂 personally prefer kimono short sleeves.. long sleeve sometimes only.. my ger sweats easily even in aircon room at 24deg with short sleeve 😅😅 long sleeve abit hard to wear 🤭🤭

I am also giving birth to my second in MAY 2022. Buy bigger size and also easy to wear apparels. I will usually clothed my newborn in long sleeves and pants. If in short sleeves rompers, I will swaddle. However, May/June tend to warm/hot months so I think I will monitor the weather and adjust accordingly.

Get 60! My bb girl came out at 47cm, I think boys will be taller. (May vary for diff mummies) For me, I mostly let my NB wear long sleeves pants or sleep suits. Even if I wear short sleeves for her, I’ll also wear pants and make sure to keep her covered whenever there’s fan/big wind. :)

thank you!

Get bigger sizes! Babies grow really fast. Get some of both - footies and no footies. I only bought those long-sleeve rompers for sleep. During the day my baby wears onesies if I swaddle her. Otherwise she wears onesies with pants that have footies.

My friend who had a baby last year highly recommend this sleep suit. Has inbuilt mittens and footies, which you can fold to remove as well :) https://shopee.sg/product/240982157/6724816834?smtt=0.109859164-1642249243.9

hi mummy! i bought a couple of size 60 and the rest are bigger. my bb was born 52cm so size 60 is just right for him. i also bought just the short sleeved ones as he sweats even in ac.

Bigger, easy to stretch while putting on such as the arms. I used cloth to swaddle so no long sleeves. Jus short one and she is usually jus in diapers at night forneasy change.

Same here, popping in May too - a girl. I’m slowly stocking up onesies & rompers in various sizes mostly are Mothercare or H&M..
