Hi mummies, I just gave birth a few days ago. Bb is 5 days old and drinking FM as my supply have not kicked in. He is 3.4kg at birth. Day 1 - hospital gave 30ml/ feed Day 2 - hospital gave 35ml/ feed Day 3 - hospital gave 40ml/ feed upon discharge Day 4 - CN gave 50ml/ feed Day 5 - CN gave 55-60ml/ feed He doesn’t vomit out milk, and sometimes start crying/ fussing for an hour or continue with suckle effect even after fed. Are we over feeding? #advicepls #pleasehelp #firstbaby

I fed my bb around 60-70ml in the first month every 3 hours. You may use the guideline of 150ml x bb weight for reference (whole day intake). Each bb intake could be different, if bb is hungry and not vomiting forcefully it’s ok to feed. Increase intake by 5ml each time (for few days) if require before the next increase. My bb is 3.6kg at birth

There is no definite amount as to how much a newborn should drink because every baby’s intake is different. If you intend to increase your baby’s intake, try to do it in 5mls. Hopefully this can help you: https://www.nurturelife.com/blog/can-overfeed-baby-5-common-faqs-infant-overfeeding/
