Is it safe to have a puppy with a 14 month old?

Adopted a puppy about 2 months before I delivered. I would say it depends on your puppy’s behaviour. My puppy has really high energy and tend to be more rough and excited. Hence, I kept my baby (currently 17 months old) away from my dog because it might pounce on my baby, just like what it did to me when running around my house. They only interact when there is a playpen divider. So far, my dog only licked my baby’s hand and did not bite 🤞🏻 my dog does bark at people walking past my house randomly and at times wake my baby time but after sometime, my baby got used to it. However, having a puppy is a high commitment. Puppy needs a lot of attention and walk to unleash their energy. I let my dog unleashes it’s energy for a few hours daily and it ended up knocking out early every night 😂 As a working mom, to be honest, it is hard to juggle time between a dog and a baby. Both need your attention. If you have someone to help you with the cleaning, bathing etc and all then I supposed it will be better. Also, (this is personal preference - some people might not mind) you have to consider the fur flying around the house so cleaning the house is also important as it might land into your food if it’s not properly covered. I suggest you to think carefully first before getting because it would be unfair to the puppy if you ended up giving up or putting in an animal shelter.
