Irregular Menses After Weaning Breastfeeding?

Hi mummies after you weaned your baby from the breasts do your menses become irregular? I bf for more than a year and my period returned at around 8 months. Just recently weaned and this time I'm about 5 days late so a bit worried. Thank you!
