7 weeks based on last period but gynae says embryo is showing 5 weeks

Hello all I need your views. The last 10 days I had very terrible appetite and very fatigue. The thought of what to eat next makes me nauseous and every smell is bad. Just this morning, I started feeling better (no longer extremely exhausted, my boobs are larger but no longer sore, and I am able to eat but still gagged out of the blue) Had my first gynae appointment in my life where my doctor told me there is only an yolk sac hence I’m at week 5 instead of 7 and prescribed me Duphaston. Is this a bad sign? I read Duphaston is to prevent miscarriages. Is my situation pessimistic? #firstbaby

At a similar stage as you just that mine seemed a bit early so yolk sac was not even sighted, just the gestational sac. Was given progesterone tablets and now nervously waiting for the 2 week check up. Same.. had rly sore boobs when i first found out but now less sore but seems larger. Had only occasional nausea but nothing like a full blown morning sickness. So scared that loss of some symptoms mean miscarriage.. but i wont know until the next appt :/

Thank you Joyce. Hope everything is well during my appointment on Valentine’s Day 🥺

I am ivf patient and its normal for preggos to get lots of progesterone support for the 1st tri. duphaston is just 1 type of progesterone! having more progesterone also means that you might have more side effects such as bloating and fatigue. measuring late could mean you ovulated or implanted late. I have had 3 mc so understand how you feel and you will not be able to have a piece of mind till your next scan. just continue to think positive!

think positive! there are mommies with healthy babies who started out late :)

I trust that is not because if it is, your doctor would have been upfront with you to make sure you are more careful and take good care of yourself etc. usually edd and adjusted edd can be different, so don't think too much! focus on nourishing yourself, good mood also leads to good healthy pregnancy :)

it is common for gynae to prescribe duphaston at week 5 week 6. it is just a supplement to help stabilize the very initial stage of pregnancy. don't think too much. 🫰

Thank you! I just vomited today so I think everything should be alright. Actually I keeping track of my period for the last 4 years so my period is usually 28 days, rarely 29 days. And we used an ovulation kit to test if I’m ovulating, hence my doubts came from there😅 Hope in 10 days our baby will be growing well!
