Hi Amy, I would think that is not necessary to send your child to child care.Sending your child in child care will depend on their personality as well as your family's work schedule. There is no perfect age and each child will adjust to the care environment in a different way. If you or any of your family members can take care of your child, I wouldn't see the need to send to childcare. One of the benefit of child care for children at this age is that they offer toddlers a chance to socialise with other toddlers and offer them the opportunity to participate in activities they might not be able to do at home. You can also send you child to any playgroup classes which is 1-2hrs per week with accompanied adult, in this way your child can socialise with other children through fun and play.

Dear Jasmine, thank you for your sharing & info, appreciated . As being the first time mum. I have my MIL & a helper to look after my LO currently , thus may consider her in play group , as to let her to socialize with other kids. :) thanks

its really your personal choice. if you have no help while you are working, childcare will be the last option. otherwise sending child early at 18mths help them to get used to new environment and new faces. also help to get used to the routine easily. as they are young, they can socialise easily. teachers also help to teach them many things which we cant hardly do at home. but some parents will worry that child get sick easily. this is unavoidable too. so it really depend on yourself whether if you are willing to send early.

Hi Amy, As with the other mummies, I think it is a personal choice. A lot of my friends had to send their children to childcare centre due to the lack of alternative caregiver to help look after their children while they work. A childcare centre could offer a chance for socialization but it is also a place where virus may easily spread among children. Regardless, there are always pros and cons to every option. Just decide based on what you think is the best for you and your baby. Just my personal opinion. :)

Hi Amy, Not necessarily if your current caretaker is taking good care of your child. There are lots parents choose to send because their current babysitter may only let the child watch too much tv, youtube, etc.. It's your personal choice. Not a must :)

I don't think it's necessary as long as you can spend time with your kid doing story telling, singing or reading. Nowadays kids are pretty quick in understanding things and they learn fast too. I have 4 boys so telling you from personal experience.

Not necessary unless you have no one to help take care of your child but for me recommend to send them probably 22months is the best.
