SGH ward delivery

Hi! I’m a private patient at SGH. Anyone know if i will need to book a ward? If yes, when to do it? I would love to be in ward A but I heard that it’s in high demand so it depends on the availability during the delivery day. And can we leave the baby to the nurses at night? Please share your experience at SGH! Thanks!

No u can't actually book the ward prior to admission. u will be asked for ur preference when u admit. I went in as B1 wanting A but even after I delivered I couldn't get one because no availability. I only got it few days after.

u can leave baby with the nurses but bear in mind they r quite pushy for rooMing in, wanting the mum to start breastfeeding. But u can insist that u want to rest n leave the baby at the nursery

yes you will be informed and instructed to book at week 36/37, are you there yet? don’t think can leave with nurses at night
