Cabergoline to stop breastfeeding

I was prescribed cabergoline to stop breast milk production as I’m returning to work after maternity leave. Have anyone tried this method before? Was told not to stimulate the breast after taking the medication, but both my breast are so sore and full. Is this normal? If yes, how long does it take for the soreness and fullness to go away? Possible to use cold compress? Would this lead to mastitis?

Mine just naturally stopped even tho I was an over supply. I just dragged my pump till I only pumped once a day. If pain, I just hand express out abit to relieve. By the 7th day of trying to stop BF, my milk supply alr stopped. Don’t have to take medication.
