How long does it take to give birth after being induced at 40 weeks??

Cos my due date is ytd and doctor say I still 0cm and she wanted to induced me ytd but my husband wanted to wait till Monday then induced. I don’t know should I wait till my waterbag break or straight induced.

I think in SG, max we can wait is 41 weeks. However I am in no position to tell you what to do, I can provide you alternatives that you can ask gynae. If fluid enough, baby not in distress, mummy is well, no/low risk pregnancy then ask gynae if they can allow you to wait till 41 weeks. My gynae allowed me to wait but my fluid wasn’t enough hence I had to be induced at 40.3 weeks. One thing you have to be prepared is that, if your induce fails (3 pills, 18 hours max), you will have to undergo ecsect.

It does not work the same for everyone. Mine was 6 hours from inducing till labour. I know of someone who was induced for 18 hours and had to do ecsect.
