Organic which usually refers to organic produce are from cleaner farming practises which does not involve or restricts the amount and type of pesticides and fertilisers used in the farming process. It is usually processed without the use of irradiation, industrial solvents or synthetic food additives. However the definition internationally is different and there isn't any institution to govern the practice. Currently, as Long as 95% of the ingredients are organic, they will call it organic. You can look out for labels/logos of the product and Google it - because there are many labels out there
Get familiar with the organic labels (the US, Australia and New Zealand ones are those most widely found in Singapore) and only buy produce which has those labels. Then you know you are really buying organic produce. And don't fall for "all natural" types of labels, it's just a marketing trick!
