May I know For Elective C-Sect and Emergency C- Sect, what kind of anesthesia they give ?

for me i went 3 caesarean.. i asked if it is epidural. they say its not. its a spinal anaesthesia. so i was awake throughout the procedure and i canjot feel my tummy lower onwards. my SIL went for 3 csect too she was on GA for all cos she had complications like 1st pregnancy got diabetes, 2nd pregnancy highblood pressure and her 3rd pregnancy very low iron. so doc advise to sleep.
