Has anyone used "Teach your child to read.." by Engelmann? Any other reading book recommended for Kindergarten level.

I bought Terry Cooper's "100 Words Kids Need to Read by 1st Grade: Sight Word Practice to Build Strong Readers" for my fiance's best friend as a Christmas gift. He is not a native English speaker and he is enrolling his son into an English speaking dagis or kindergarten. I chose this book because it benefits both the parent and the child. It contains word riddles, games, and puzzles which makes the teaching and learning educational yet fun.
