Has anyone gotten their period while still breastfeeding? Or is it sure to come after weaning?

I got my period when I was about 15 weeks post partum. We haven't weaned yet and I didn't expect it to be so fast. I enjoyed not having periods. Hahaha. How soon you'll get back your period depends on if you're exclusively breastfeeding. If you latch your baby fully on demand and your baby does not sleep through the night there is a higher tendency that your period will be delayed for a longer period. Weaning may lead to less demand on the breasts and a reduction in breast milk production thus cause menstruation to return sooner.

It is possible for a mother to get her period while still breastfeeding. Apparently, how soon a woman’s period return is dependent on various factors, such as nursing style, introduction of solid food, bottle feeding etc. You can take a look at this article for more information: http://www.newkidscenter.com/Period-While-Breastfeeding.html
