Breast pump and Haakaa in UV steriliser

Hi, FTM here. I bought Medela breast pump and Haakaa silicone manual breast pump - both of which says to boil / steam for sanitising. One friend don’t care and just put them in UV steriliser. May I know you guys do this as well? Will it compromise the quality of my breast pump and Haakaa?

my haakaa turned yellowish when put in UV for a few times, i use steam after that instead for new haakaa and it was fine.

While it is up to individual’s preference, it is probably best to follow the product instructions. 😀
