OP (sunny side up) position

hello fellow mummies! i’ve just gone for my week 37 gynae appt and was being told that bb was at an occiput posterior (aka sunny side up) position & was not told that bb was in this position on my prev appts.. this may cause labor to be more difficult and higher chance for ecsect.. i’m wondering if there are any fellow mummies out there who has experienced this too? and if there’s a chance for bb to turn and not stay in this position?

Hey mummy! My baby was breech, and I did all sorts of exercises as recommended by my gynae to try to turn from 36-38 weeks religiously lol, but not enough space for baby to turn in the end as I'm pretty small frame. I went for elective c section and it was the best experience ever. Baby was out in 5 mins, I didn't do anything special and my recovery was great. To be very frank, pain level from epidural all the way to recovery was also maybe around 4-5/10 for me. But please understand that everyone's birth experience is different! I chose to go for elective c section at 38 weeks instead of waiting out because I didn't want to land in emergency c section, which would (1) be potentially traumatic, (2) cost way more. I also heard of a lot of stories where after trying for natural > land in emergency c section, baby came out with the umbilical cord wrapped around their neck. So my opinion was to heed gynae advice and go for safest way for baby to come out just in case that was the situation. Either way, I know c section may not be something you wanted or planned for, but wanted to reassure that there are many positive birth stories out there so remember to also focus on these 🤍
