Can you overfeed a newborn?

My baby is 1 month old and gets hungry very quickly even on formula. BM will be 1 hour sometimes and formula even 1.5 hours.. now 4kg and drinks about 100ml, sometimes not enough then 110ml instead. Is it possible to overfeed? She’ll poop during feeds or after then gets hungry again quickly. Like stick out tongue.. she doesn’t vomit out and her stomach doesn’t seem bloated.. #advicepls #firstmom Thanks in advance

No you can't. i also worried about this when my newborn eats like theres no tmr. They will stop or vomit milk or refuse if they are full. Don't worry if they get very fat or chunky. I worried and tried to limit my LO from drinking too much. He then goes through the phase of refusing milk at 3 months and slims down and I have to keep forcing him to drink more! Don't worry, just let him if he is willing and not throwing up! (Remember to burp him) Edit: Just want to add. This is unless your LO is not born heavy. If they were born 50 percentile and within 1 month became 90 percentile then you'd prolly do well to limit his/her intake.

Do you remember your baby weight at birth? If you do, you can check your baby health booklet for the chart. If not, you can also visit this site - https://sg.theasianparent.com/newborn-baby-weight-chart-singapore Scroll all the way down and check at 0 month what is your baby percentile. Then what your baby weight now. If they are still in the same percentile or just increase slightly from 50+ to 75- then there's not much to worry about. At 1 month 4kg is roughly at 50%.

My LO was also feeding a lot in his first month, asking for milk every 1.5-2h, and clearing 100ml each time. He put on a lot of weight then, but abruptly started taking less milk when going on 2 months, around 70-80 ml only. Now he's nearing 3 months , and doesn't look so round anymore. I feed on demand, so only when he's hungry he'll feed.

Newborn tend to feed alot and often. My 1 month old was feeding 60-90ml every 1.5 too. Dont think its overfeeding cause if theyre full or dont want milk, theyll reject or vomit out alot
