Different gender siblings sharing bedroom

Can anyone share if they had their 2 kids of different genders share a bedroom till adult? How was it? Thinking ahead as our 4 rm flat only have 1 bedroom for kids, and the other room has been renovated for other purposes previously and cannot accommodate a person..

I myself shared rooms with my bro and sis till I was sec 1. It was fine actually, no awkward walk ins etc as long as they know how to knock before entering.
