Ocsar test
Anybody did the Oscar test? Is it necessary? What is the process like? #1stimemom #firstbaby

My first baby was a down syndrome and I did an Oscar test during first trimester which the result turned out to be 1 in 10. Many people and specialists commented that the possibility of having a Down Syndrome baby is higher when the mother is older. But when I had mine, I was only 18 years old. I did another test which was the amniocentesis and had a confirmed diagnosis of down syndrome baby at 20 weeks. For me, it was necessary to get it tested. It was still a traumatic experience for me as it was a loss I couldn't comprehend then I finally got the courage to try for a baby this year after 10 years. the process for Oscar is do a detailed ultrasound to check for the structure of baby that also include the main markers such as nuchal translucency and nasal bone followed by a blood test. but oscar can't tell you the gender of baby as compared to NIPT and the accuracy is only 90%. If not wrong, NIPT or Harmony is 99% accuracy.
