Your friend can approach The Down Syndrome Association (DSA) of Singapore. It is a self-funding, non-profit voluntary welfare organization with IPC (Institute of Public Character) status, which works closely and regularly with healthcare and educational professionals, and voluntary welfare organizations. Their mission statements are to: - Develop individuals with Down syndrome through life long learning and social integration. - Support families through specialist services, information and education. - Advocate for equal opportunities, quality of life and their contribution to society The DSA has a Family Support Services ( (FSS) section that "reaches out to parents of persons with Down syndrome by enabling them to work in an informed manner. The endeavour is to ease the stress of parents by providing a better understanding of the common issues faced, by bringing in experts to share their knowledge and skills with them; and to provide information or referrals to other services they may need to avail". http://downsyndrome-singapore.org/post/view/8/25 You can contact the DSA at the following: Address: Junction 8 (Office Tower), 9 Bishan Place, #09-01 Singapore 579837 Telephone: 6500 9321, Fax: 6255 0337
