Hi Preeti, There can be several reasons for lower growth rate, amongst which heredity may be one. I would suggest that make him eat properly: proper proportions at proper time. You may want to arrange for good quality cow milk instead of packaged milk and feed him about 250 ml twice daily. Apart from this, give him one portion of rice and one small potato everyday in lunch and dinner alongwith other vegetables. Feed him different types of legumes cooked in different styles so that he is interested to eat them. If you are non-vegetarian, make sure to give him fish/chicken/eggs each day and twice a day. If you are vegetarian, give him lots of soyabean cooked deliciously, give paneer and tofu, corns and spinach. Development is mostly about nutrition, so make sure your baby eats really really well. And if he remains lean even after eating well, rest assured he has a good metabolism and that is not something to be concerned about. If he is not interested to eat anything, get a bottle of enzymes prescribed by your doctor. Hope that helps.
