2 week old baby

My 2 week old has not been sleeping in the afternoons for the last 3 days. He gets really tired by 5/6 plus and keeps crying on and off for the next 1-2 hours for no reason and keeps fighting sleep! Once you put him down he starts crying again. He however does sleep well at night. He’s fully on breast milk and drinks well, output is also good. Anyone has experience with this and know what’s causing this?

Hey Mummy, it might be because your baby is too energetic! And he's not too tired enough to sleep in the day. As for the crying, could be a plethora of reasons too. How long has it been like this? Does he cry for a long time?

It’s been like this for about 4 days now. He cries on and off in a span of 1-2 hours. The moment he drifts off to sleep and put him down, he’s awake again. He properly sleeps from around 9 pm and wakes up every 2-3 hours for feeding until 8 plus am when he’s up to take his daily bath.
