Pregnancy

Some pregnant women are advised to drink powdered milk for mothers (maternal milk) especially if they have vitamin and mineral deficiencies. If you eat a balanced diet, generally, maternal milk is not needed. However, it is perfectly safe to drink if you wish.

Postpartum

It's safe to drink maternal milk after delivery, especially if advised by your doctor. It contains a range of nutrients that can aid in the recovery of your postpartum body. However, you can also get these same nutrients by eating a balanced diet.

Breastfeeding

While it's not essential, especially if you eat a balanced diet, maternal milk is safe to drink while breastfeeding.

Baby

Maternal milk is not not suitable for babies under the age of 11 months.
