Pregnancy

Duck eggs are okay for you to eat while pregnant. Calcium and iron in duck eggs can promote strong bone development in your baby, and help prevent anemia after childbirth. Avoid eating salted duck eggs as they contain far too much sodium, which can contribute to edema and high blood pressure.

Postpartum

If you are tired of eating chicken eggs, duck eggs are a good alternative after you give birth. Like chicken eggs, duck eggs too are rich in a range of nutrients that will help you recover well from childbirth. Avoid salted duck eggs because of their high sodium levels.

Breastfeeding

Duck eggs can provide you with much-needed energy and great nutrients while breastfeeding. Just avoid eating them raw, or even undercooked.

Baby

You can introduce duck eggs to baby at around 7 months of age. Introdce the yolk, first, to eliminate allergy possibilities. Ensure the eggs are cooked well (boiled, or scrambled) and watch out for any allergic reactions, like a skin rash.
