Carbohydrates, Calcium, Iron, Copper, Potassium, Phosphorous, Manganese, Magnesium

Pregnancy

Brown sugar is less processed than its white, refined cousin. So if you need to add sugar to a recipe, brown sugar is better than white sugar. However, make sure to not use a lot of it as it is still sugar.

Postpartum

New mums, sugar - whether brown or white - is not something you should be consuming in big quantities during your recovery period.

Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding mothers can eat brown sugar, but do control the intake. Too much sugar can lead to health issues like high blood pressure.

Baby

Sugar is not suitable for babies under the age of 11 months.
