Do not engage Rejoice Pregnancy

I do not recommend Rejoice Pregnancy. The lactation consultant was very rude to me; speaks to me in a very condescending manner. While I engaged them with a pre-natal massage promo, she keeps repeating that "this is not a massage service, if you want massage you can get it elsewhere". I am not illiterate, I knew what I had signed up for. When asked about how to relieve my lower legs swelling, she replied, "You also know what!" During the time when she was introducing the "birth & breast feeding" package to me, we discussed when was the good time to make an appointment. While the package stated that session will start on week 30, she explained that we can start on week 35 as there is not slots availability. But we have to "work very hard". To secure the appointment slot I wanted, I need to make payment soon. Which I did. She then turned up on the wrong date, at week 30. The date which we have agreed on is exactly 1 month later, on the same date. Why would I make an appointment on a day which I clearly knows I will be working? On the phone, she said again, "this is not simply a massage service". And she implied over the phone that I have to forfeit / make payment for this 1 session (800SGD for 5 sessions) because I am not at home then (when she came at the wrong date). Adding that, "all appointments have to go through office, I cannot make appointment" I contacted the company, which then decided to refund and terminate my contract without consulting me because they cannot "accommodate" to my appointment request. Not only was the lactation consultant rude and irresponsible, the company treats customers are at their disposal. They dispose and terminate contract services at their own convenience with no alternative solutions offered, and no discussions held. I should also add on that the Lactation Consultant used my toilet without flushing. She is the one on the Home Page of the company official website. While I tolerated her nonsense and all the humiliation that I had to face. The termination of my contract without consulting me was the last straw. I do no need such unnecessary emotional trigger at this crucial period. #rejoice #rejoicepregnancy #lactation #lactationconsultant

My Poor Experience with Rejoice Pregnancy

I sought help from Rejoice Pregnancy for my breastfeeding difficulties recently. As a first time mom, naturally I requested a lactation consultation with them first before deciding to sign on any package. However, not only did I not receive the proper support I needed (painful latching, sore nipples and milk supply), I came out of the session in tears, feeling extremely disrespected and insulted. During the one hour of consult, the consultant made hurtful and unfriendly remarks about my readiness to be a mom, my weight/belly, and unnecessary comments about the support system I have at home. Never once did she try to observe my baby at all and how our latching experience is. These were unhelpful and painful to hear. She also made me make an absolute decision if I wanted to breastfeed directly or do exclusive pumping - this is not true or right as plenty of moms do a combination of both. I feel responsible to share my experience so that other moms can be aware and make an informed choice before engaging help for lactation. No other moms should be subjected to such treatment (even as a one-time customer and not a package buyer). It is dangerous and damaging to our mental well-being during such a stressful period. I earnestly encourage all mummies to seek PROFESSIONAL and PROPERLY CERTIFIED help (eg. IBCLC) to assist you in your lactation challenges. I did engage a private IBCLC for a one-time consult and that has drastically improved my situation. P.S. I have written a feedback directly to the company. Their response was disappointing and did not indicate specific actions they will take to rectify this. #lactation #breastfeeding
