Breast milk

Hello wondering what do people do with extra frozen breast milk? My freezer doesn’t have much space left.

Hey there! totally feel you — frozen breast milk takes up so much space! There are actually some fun and useful ways to repurpose it! One option you might consider is donating the extra milk to KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital's milk bank, if you meet their criteria. It's a great way to help other babies in need, especially preemies. Some mamas use extra milk for milk baths which is great for soothing baby’s skin, or even make DIY breast milk lotion or soap — super gentle and natural! You can also get creative with baby’s food by making breast milk popsicles or mixing it into purees or smoothies once they start solids. Hope that helps a bit — you’re doing an amazing job!

Thank you for your great suggestions! I’ve checked and won’t be able to meet kkh criteria. Milk baths and popsicles sound good!

• You can donate to KKH but need to do blood test etc before donating. • You can post in mommy / breastfeeding group and see if other mommies need it. • Milk bath for baby. • If your baby is on solid, you can consider adding into cereals / blend with fruits.

Umm i think sometimes its a great bath for babies skin especially with rashes or eczema. Alternatively if surplus can consider donating to the milk bank at KKH?

If you’re in Singapore I would suggest donating to KKH. They are always open to donations for breast milk to feed babies who are warded, especially those in NICU
