Need advice on first time pregnancy

Hello, My wife is 9 weeks pregnant. This is our first one after 3 years of trying. We are excited about it. I need advice on the do’s and don’t on this first trimester. Right now she’s taking multivitamins(includes folic acid) after lunch and prenatal milk(Anmum Materna) after dinner. Is there anymore supplements that she needs to take? During sleep, is it okay to lie on your stomach? Is there any preferred position? As this is our first baby, we are quite lost on what to do. Need some advice on this first trimester. #Needadvice #firsttimemom #firsttimedad

Congrats papa and mama! Its fine to lie on your stomach in the first trimester coz the fetus is still very small. As the pregnancy progresses, your wife will find tt she can't comfortably lie on her stomach anymore, and then it's time to find another position. 2nd trimester onwards, it's better to sleep on your side. Some will say left side is better, but I couldnt stand sleeping on my left and slept right throughout my pregnancy. Its fine. Can't sleep on the back though, coz when the baby gets big, he/she will press on a major vein/artery and your wife will feel very uncomfortable. For first trimester, multivitamins with folic acid tt your gynae prescribed will be sufficient. Do check in your gynae for any additional ones when 2nd trimester starts. Beyond tt, food wise, just avoid raw foods like sashimi and half boiled eggs, no alcohol, minimise junk/preserved foods (easier to say than do for this haha) No shark meat/fin, tuna (due to high mercury content) , minimize pineapples (may cause uterine contractions) , max 1 cup of coffee/tea a day. It's wonderful tt youre checking in on the dos and don't for your wife, that's very thoughtful of you. As the pregnancy progresses, she'll have a lot of aches and pains and will need a lot more rest. Do try to let her sit and rest where possible, carry her stuff etc. It really goes a very long way.

That’s a long advice! Thank you very much! Will let her rest more and prevent from doing/carry heavy stuff.
