I admire the fact that my 2yo is compassionate. She would love you and pamper you to no end if even if you fake-cry. Recently, I had really bad muscle spasms in my upper back and was unable to take her in my arms. She would ask me to sit down and massage my back -- imagine a two-year old pushing their tiny knuckles on your knotted back! An additional fruit of compassion has been sharing. Since you can feel bad or cry and she feels compassionate towards you, she would immediately share whatever she has if that would soothe you. I haven't yet seen if she shares with other kids in my absence, but I have a feeling she would if the some other kid shed a few drops of tears in front of her :)

Empathy. My niece treats all living, and non living (like her toys and erm.. anything basically) with respect and kindness. I am amazed how she has learned to put herself in the shoes of others and empathize at such a young age. There was once I saw her visibly upset and asked her what happened. She told me that one of the storybooks in school was torn apart and she felt sad for the book. It may seemed like a silly thing to be upset over, but to me, it shows how much she cared about the things around her.

My boy is stubborn and that can be a good and a bad thing. I don't like it when he sometimes do not listen to instructions but he is quite determined to succeed in whatever he is doing, it may be a puzzle piece or how to get something from the top of the fridge. I have to nurture the good thing and educate him more on the bad thing :-)

I love how kids are always so curious. I wish I had the energy to be as curious about learning like before.

My 3yo is full of life..always happy..
