To a certain extent, yes. Some of the fluid can be replaced by oral intake so make sure she drinks a lot of fluids (at least 1.5 to 2 litres daily). In some cases of placenta insufficiency, insufficient nutrients and oxygen are being passed on to the baby through the placenta, which results in the baby not producing enough fluid. In such cases, the mum requires close monitoring in addition to drinking lots of water.
