Is it true that drinking alcoholic beverages like DOM or eating dishes cooked with alcohol will is thought to boost blood circulation and warm up the body?

I've came across an article by Eu Yan Sang (http://www.euyansang.com.sg/beware-these-6-confinement-myths/eysfertility1.html) that clarified this point. The use of alcohol in TCM is believed to help expel cold and promote circulation. However, the article highlighted that nursing mothers should avoid alcohol as it could passed to the baby through breast milk. I guess the use of alcohol should be in moderation and the mother has to be careful not to breastfeed her baby while the alcohol is still within the system.

I don't think it's that true because alot of people cannot drink alcohol due to religious or personal reasons. Drinking and eating food cooked in alcohol might help but it is not compulsory, I reckon. When I moved abroad for the first time in 2009, I asked a coordinator whether drinking alcohol really keeps you warm but they revealed that it is not true. Too much alcohol can actually lower your core temperature and it can be dangerous.
