Irregular Period

My period have yet to come but as far as I know, my period wasn't regular. But lets say if my period have yet to come, then when should I check? Using the pregnancy test?

My cycle is also hard to predict. I took the pregnancy test 6 weeks after the last period. And I was feeling tender breast too.
