Hi mummies. is it true that we can only register for infant care 3 mths before our EDD? what if by then there is no slots available?

I was looking around for IFC. Govt's IFC only can apply 3months prior EDD. And waiting time about 9months-1year. So to ensure I can go back to work (my in laws & parents working).. So we bite the bullet and apply private IFC. Meanwhile will wait for govt's. Anyways am 18weeks+, first time mom to-be. I heed to friends' advices. We paid about 4.5k cash for deposit to secure a slot for IFC. Very expensice, but its better than lost of 1 income for many months till govt IFC has slots for my baby. 😔
