Do we need to engage a paediatrician upon giving birth?

My mum asked me if I engaged a PD. Said when she gave birth to me, her gynae asked where the PD was. Is there this need? #1stimemom

I let the gynae arrange for me 1st pregnancy is PD 2nd pregnancy is midwife I strongly recommend to engage PD instead of midwife as PD is more professional

When u are reaching at your last trimester, your gynae will ask u if u have any.. If he/she didn’t, den you can ask for your gynae for one.. 😊

Yes of course. Baby will be passed onto PD immediately upon delivery to do a thorough check before clean up.
