Depression / Severe Mood Swings

Hi mothers, may i know how doc (ie. nuh) diagnose mood swings/depression/anxiety and when do doc prescribed medication like antidepressants?

They will ask you regard on how u felt then they will recommend you to psychologist or psychiatrist first.
