For infants I think it is safer to bring to PD to check for congestion in airways in case it leads to bronchitis rather than rely on natural remedies. If your baby has a lot of mucus I suggest to buy the nasal aspirator from Pigeon ( the one which mommy has to use mouth to suck from the tubing) and constantly try to suck the mucus out from baby's nose. It helps to get rid of the mucus faster as sometimes it is so thick that it won't come out easily and baby will have difficulty breathing. Also buy sterimar sea salt water spray to spray into baby's nose before sucking out the mucus. This spray is very natural and helps to clear the nose effectively. Another more natural method is to bring baby into the bathroom after someone has a hot bath because the warm water vapor inside can help to relieve the congestion. Also do prop up her pillow or mattress a little to let her breathe easier. Hope your baby recovers soon!!

thank you Siow Yeng!

For infants, it is best to see the PD or doctor first to ensure their lungs are clear to avoid it developed into something serious like bronchitis. Once you get clearance from PD, you can try placing cut onions in the room that the baby rest to "clean" the air. If you are breastfeeding, ensure you latch the baby more often to keep them hydrated and pass more antibiotics to him/her to fight the virus. If the nose is blocked, try to elevate her up to 45degree when sleeping.

Try applying Vicks Vaporub on baby's feet and wear socks. Read that by doing so a few nights will help in recovery.
