When to ask for epidural

Hi mommies, if i am 3 cm dilated is it too early to ask for epidural? Can the epidural last me till i push out my baby? Or should i wait till wider dilated to ask for epidural? I want to avoid feeling pain  #advicepls

upon admitting into the hospital, express ur desire to have the epidural, so they can make the necessary arrangements. dont wait til its unbearable. the nurses will start off with low dose, and increase gradually

Normally 3cm you dont feel the intense pain yet but can ask for it. The epidural will be put to low dosage when youre around 9-10cm so you feel and push baby out. Not painful cos epidural makes you numb waist down but youll feel pressure down there when babys about to come out. Or you dont feel anything at all.
