Yes. Electronic devices such as cellphone, microwaves and laptop emit low levels of radio waves, called non-ionising electromagnetic radiation. Research has shown that exposing unborn to these radio waves have harmful effects on baby. Research were conducted on pregnant women who were exposed to different levels of cell phones during pregnancy and it was discovered that fetals who were exposed more to cell phones in wombs are more prone to develop behavioural problems such as emotional problem, difficulty relation to his/her peers, more hyperactive and prone to problematic conduct. http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2012/02/23/should-pregnant-women-avoid-using-cell-phones.aspx However, in our society today, it is difficult to avoid using cell phones, computer and these electronic devices. What mommy can do is to reduce the usage during pregnancy. 1. Minimise the use of mobile phone 2. Send a text or use a landline instead of making calls on your mobile 3. Keep your calls short. 4. Find a spot where you can get a strong signal before making a call. It is known that cell phones will emit more radio waves if it is used at places with low signal. There are also many mommies who frequently use computers and cell phones for work purposes and they have babies who are perfectly healthy. I personally think that it is not something that you should be worrying too much. Use these devices when necessary.
