When do you stop breastfeeding and why?
I'm breastfeeding for 4 months now and going to back to work very soon. It'll be hard to pump every 3 hours so how do you manage pumping in office? What's the frequency like if you work 9 to 6? Thank you

I’m currently post-partum 8 months, still breastfeeding and went back to work on the 4th month. Yes, it is indeed hard to pump every 3 hours especially if you don’t have nursing room in the office and have busy workload & schedule. For me, on the 4th to 6th month, I adjusted to every 4-5 hours (3 times at work). Then to current, every 6-7 hours (2 times at work) because I don’t want to be deemed as “always missing from my desk” 😢 . For me, there are days I am unable to pump on time due to meetings and out of office so I have no choice to miss a pump session or just pump as soon as I can. It can be tiring mentally and physically at the start because you have to plan your timing, bringing pumps and breastfeeding cooler bag as you travel to and from work or out of office for meeting purposes, fearing of burdening your colleagues but I would advise to just try your best and take care of yourself first. Also, adding on, you have to prepare to face a supply dip due to work stress and lack of sleep. It is very common for most working mothers to have a dip in their supply. If really unable to, then it’s fine too. Fed is best. I’m lucky to have supportive colleagues and boss so that’s why I’m still able to pump at work.
