Newborn not pooping since the last suppository, is it normal?

Dear Mummy Daddies, My newborn (2 months 20 days) has not been pooping for 6 days already. This is already her 3rd cycle (each cycle=7 days) and each cycle we had to give her lax suppository from the doc. Is there any reason or do we need to change milk powder? (We are giving her 60% breast milk / 40 for. Milk. ) #firstbaby #pleasehelp

Hi I don’t think it’s normal and should Get it checked by PD. but it’s also understandable in a sense because newborns have developing bowels system that isn’t mature yet. Suggest you do stomach (massage anti clockwise around navel) and bicycle massages to help pass gas and poop. Use some oil like telon or ruyi to create warmth at tummy area which can encourage pass motion Use warm water soak baby at stomach level can do the same too.

Jumping in here as my LO had recurring constipation issue and I saw a PD who gave some helpful advice 1) look for GOS or FOS in formula milk - they are prebiotics which help baby digestion. I using nature one premium. 2) give your LO probiotics as well - can try vivomixx with vitamin D. Expensive but is quite effective as they have many strains of probiotics.

I thought it’s normal, docs I asked said ok as long as no decrease in appetite or activeness. My boy poo every 3-7 days that it’s such a norm for us already. Since he’s 2months till now 5 months old. On 50/50 BM FM.
