Is it compulsory to eat vinegar during confinement?

Scientifically, vinegar depending on the type you use, are generally alkaline in nature and good to be used to neutralise body pH levels. In turn, this helps protect against diseases and when added to some food to boost the dishes' benefits. Whether or not it's compulsory, reckon it's all personal preference. You can take it if you want for its perceived benefits but if you skipped it and take alternatives that have the same effect, it's okay too.

Don't think it is compulsory. Doubt any of the confinement food is "compulsory" per se, but all thought to be good for the mother's recovery. Personally, I find pig trotters black vinegar very tasty and will not pass on that even if I'm not doing confinement (especially since it is a an everyday dish). ;p
