Depending on each child. My no. 1 didnt need much proofing. She could mostly listen to us. Hope it's similar for no. 2. Fingers crossed.

My Son figured out how to escape all the child proofing stuff we did

By using mats and gates so that my child won’t get into accidents

Baby proofing should be done as soon as the child starts crawling
