Yes you can, but within certain limits. The child has to be mature enough and not have had any co-exisiting problems (e.g. the mum having hypertension or diabetes) that indicate the need to get the baby out earlier. It depends on the situation.Most of the time for planned c-section, doctors choose to deliver at around 38 weeks of gestation , not too late in case the patient goes into labour herself and not too early as there's always a bit of error when it comes to dating of pregnancy.
