Uh do you mean your wife felt a pulsating sensation at a particular spot of her belly? If yes then that could be baby having hiccups (which is often mistaken as baby’s heartbeat). But if you mean the gynae is physically checking baby’s heartbeat (meaning no pulsating feel) then that might not be hiccup. Perhaps ask gynae for advice :)
