FTWM, how do you manage when kids fall sick and can’t attend school very frequently?

I took my kid out of school for about a year. She was constantly sick and it was difficult to manage the unplanned illness. I did a nanny share with a friend during that period. much fewer illnesses. when I put her back into school, she did fall ill more frequently but not as much as that first time.
