My baby is almost 6 months old and has been waking at midnight for the last 2 weeks, and taking up to 2 hours to get back to sleep again, getting very upset and screaming. Previously she would settle easily at night, and she still does at all other times (e.g. at bedtime and naps she will still fall asleep in about 5-10 min). Feeding does not help, and she will only settle being held on that particular waking. Is this typical of Leap 5? I hope it settles soon.

    To be short: yes this is typical. Most kids get back to their normal sleeping pattern when this leap is made.
