Why does doctor ask when the first day of last period? I thought it shld be last of day of the last period?

We use an app calculator to calculate the golden period But base on doctor advise currently 8 weeks. Back track 8 weeks, is before the golden period. But we do have intercourse right after my period end. I reckon the baby form during tt period
